Talk about luck... two dedicated "nutters' are getting together for the 2008 race season. The schedule (so far) includes Roebling Road, Georgia, Daytona Florida (two races), Willow Springs, California (two races) and ending up with the Manx Gran Prix, on the Isle of Man. We will be running the Premeir Class for AHRMA (USA) events, and the prestigious Classic Senior for the MGP.
The picture below is Ago on a nice 250 Ducati during the 2007 MGP race. This picture is just after the jump at Ballaugh Bridge..nice..!!

And here is Ago at the famous Creg Ny Baa..! (2007 MGP)

So, the adventure begins... Ago flies to Florida, and we meet for the first time. We drive up to Georgia and Ago throws a leg over the "Green Monster", and we do some practice sessions, making adjustments where needed. Here is Ago getting ready for a practice session.

Two more pictures of Ago at Roebling Road in Georgia, Ago rides to a 5th place finish.!

After Roebling, we drive back down to Florida, next is the Daytona International Speedway. On that Sunday, we get the bike Tech Inspected, and get all our documents and passes for Monday and Tuesday. After practice on Monday, here I am downloading data so that I can adjust the "set up" for the first Daytona race..!

Here is a GREAT picture of Ago on the Daytona infield. Notice the lack of daylight between the fairing and the pavement..!! Daytona is an awesome track, but does take some getting used to.... We had a great start on Monday, Ago jumped to 4th place from the starting line. But due to the proverbial 10 cent part failing, we finished 11th. On Tuesday, we finished easily in 9th place. Ago is getting the feeling of the bike, and the engine performed flawlessly overall.

Our next race was to be at Willow Springs in early April, but alas we had our first true DNF on the Friday practice day. Now is the scramble to fix the problems before the bike ships out..!!
June brings good news... first the engine issues got all repaired, then we got the official word... our entry has been accepted for the Senior Classic at the MGP..!!!!
The bike got running again and on the dyno... one last "tune up" session before the bike ships out.

My good pal Mike McQueen (R.I.P. 1-09) did a quick repaint on the fairing after I modified it. If you look at the two pictures above you can see Ago runs out of cornering clearance... hopefully that is all fixed..!!
Here is the bike and spares as I dropped them off at the port, all set to ship out..!! Oh yes, and I did get the bike legally registered and plated..! Check out the nice new 24 liter fuel tank... the decals go on once I get to the I.O.M.

And speaking of entries, here is the list as of 7-12-08. I count 73 entries..!!

And note there are some top names on this list. Then there are a few very special bikes, TWO of the very fast Patons and a special entry, the MV Augusta -3cylinder. Here is a picture of the MV 3 with Agostini on it, "in the day" and next to it is Gary Johnson who will race the MV3 this year. Nice Air..!!

So, thanks to my good Manchester friends, I get to the Ferry on time and arrive at Roundhay on Friday night.. First practice is to be the next day.. there is a LOT to do..! But as you can see, everything had arrived in good order..!

Check out this first class bike work bench..!

We get some great practice laps in, Ago exceeds the required qualifying speed on his FIRST lap..!!! Below are several pictures from different practices during the week. My favorites are Ago going over Ballaugh Bridge... nice air..!!

Here is Ago at Windy Corner..

And on Friday, here is Ago doing a practice start... Notice the great concentration.... da man is focused..!
